A Story from a Bar in Bangkok
Life has taught me one undeniable truth: if you do nothing, nothing happens; if you do something, something happens. It’s this philosophy that keeps me restless, curious, and always pushing the boundaries of creativity.
Sitting in a bar in Bangkok, surrounded by the hum of chatter and the clink of glasses, I decided to put my motto into action yet again. Armed with the power of artificial intelligence, I crafted two provocative stories: one about Trump in the U.S. and another about Starmer in the U.K., both allegedly proposing to deport anyone not born in their respective countries.
The stories were absurd, of course, but I wasn’t interested in truth. I wanted to see how people would react, to test the waters of thought and emotion. With a grin, I hit send and waited.
What followed was a cascade of feedback that amazed me. Friends chimed in from all over—some laughing at the satire, others diving into heated debates about politics, ethics, and the state of the world. The responses ranged from outrage to intrigue, and I realized I’d struck a chord, perhaps even opened up a conversation people weren’t ready to have.
Meanwhile, the bar buzzed around me. Bangkok has a way of making you feel both connected and detached at the same time. It’s a city that never stops, a place where anything feels possible. As I took it all in, the bartender approached, a cold Leo beer in hand.
“Another one?” he asked with a smile.
I nodded and raised my glass. “Please, God, give me another Leo beer.”
And as the froth hit my lips, I thought to myself: This is what happens when you do something. The world responds. The conversation starts. The possibilities are endless.
Cheers to that.
